Love you all! I appreciate your support!
This is what I want for my son. Thank you for your videos, they really help.
Finally!
thank you for review, the only thing t1d community is missing now to really “close the loop” is to have glucose pump to address lows
Fantastic video as always! I was disappointed to hear it’s not available in the US as I’ve been looking for an affordable closed-loop system and hoped this might be it. For those who do have access though, I’m wondering if the monitoring app is available for iOS? I have an Android but my wife uses an iPhone and I’m currently using the Freestyle 3 so she has the LinkUp app on her iPhone and it works seamlessly with my Libre app on the Android.
Thanks for all the time and research you put into sharing insights like these with the rest of us!
Thank you, where can i get it in Africa
Is the price not available? I couldn’t find it online. How does it compare (price wise) to other pumps?
Very interesting video Tom. Always good when there are other choices for users to choose from. Seeing the myLife pump relies on the smartphones calculations, how much of an extra drain is it on the smartphone battery?
I’m on Dexcom G6 and Tandem closed loop and very happy with it. But you are correct that being able to calibrate the sensor is very important. I have experienced when the sensor is falsely reading very high (always after a new sensor) and the pump has put in a correction bolus. I did have alarms set for high glucose readings so I was able to compensate for the error and also recalibrate the sensor.
Being in the USA, I’m guessing the FDA will be leery of being able to set the glucose level too low as you demonstrated.
Fantastic review, thanks! I’m starting my MyLife Loop journey the coming weeks and you got me really exited
With the current major android bug in android 13 regarding Bluetooth this is an issue with dexcom on the other side. As a summary close loop systems over the mobile phone are very prone to compatibility issues. I just don’t understand why vendors don’t have their own device where the software was tested and can’t be changed by the users. I would definitely carry an extra device when I know it just works.
The limit being to set lower is great, now it is realistic to get nondiabetic sugar levels from a insulin pump
That would require another infusion set which is already super expensive
Sounds like the technology still needs a few more years.
Imagine the liability these closed loop systems have… And the number of little grey cells necessary for success… For those with tight control, I have found CGM’s too inaccurate to fully trust. Ditto blood glucose meters.
