Being strict Keto and OMAD for a long time, I don’t seem to have ‘sweet cravings’ However, I do buy chocolate at 97% 100% Cacao. It is bitter, but that indicates the presence of polyphenols which are excellent for your health and I deliberately include it in my diet.
It is all a question of an aquired taste, like drinking lemon juice without sugar or sugar substitutes.Give it time and you will love it, and find the regular stuff (if you do succumb) too sickly.
Thank you, i thoroughly enjoyed the mug cake recipes . When my family is having cake or ice cream, i make the mug cakes and can get to sit and enjoy with them
Hello from Bangkok, Thailand. I followed you for quite sometime. I lost my weight from 98 KG. to 70.5 KG. in 9 months. My HBA1C from 8.4 to 6.1. Fortunately I know how to cook and my wife know how to bake, I cut sugar out of my all food recipes and replace it with Monk fruit and eat less rice or breads. My wife baked me Chocolate cake without flour and also replace sugar with Monk fruit. I do enjoyed my meal everyday. I have to thank you for your good advice it really made my life a lot healthier. Thank you very much again and again and keep more good advice coming.
Great seeing Benedicta today! I’ve missed your encouragement to diabetics. Your so supportive to Dennis and all of us!
Wonderful! Great to hear from you!
Thank you Dennis, but I didn’t see the recipe for the topping! Can’t wait to try these yummy desserts!
I sometimes melt sugar free chocolate and add Stevia then mix and then pour into silicone chocolate bar molds. Occasionaly I will add crushed nuts to them. It looks and tastes like a regualr chocolate bar but has virtually no carbs. By the way, I love theose colourful clothes you are both wearing, Very impressive.
An even mixture of sour cream and cream cheese. Mix in enough swerve or non-sugar sweetener to satisfy you. Heat on low heat (or defrost) in the microwave until soft. Mix together. Done!
After 3 weeks of low carb and a few days starting intermittent fasting, I decided to eat a banana and a mini muffin as a treat. Poor me ! I am not doing this anytime soon ! The next morning, no energy, feeling bad and always asleep. All the old symptoms were back, so no sugary treat as I experience so bad side effects. Now I understand why people say they would never come back to old habits. It sucks !!! This event is a blessing because now I know how it feels to be energetic with no nightnares while sleeping. Thank you God and thank you Beat Diabetes !
Add salt to your lemon juice instead.
I’ve been making chia pudding with coconut milk, bit of vanilla extract, nuts, black berries, unsweetened shredded coconut and unsweetened bakers chocolate; good stuff and no problems.
I sometimes feel like the store bought prepared keto desserts are too good to be true . I still get them just don’t understand subtracting carbs from artificial sweeteners.
Several have asked for a recipe for the topping described in this video. So here it is: An even mixture of sour cream and cream cheese. Mix in enough swerve or non-sugar sweetener to satisfy you. Heat on low in the microwave until soft. Mix together. Done! (I like to give it some time to cool off before eating.)
Awesome!
Thank you!
I can. I enjoy a small square of dark chocolate every evening. When I first started the chocolate tasted bitter. But having cut out most sugars it now taste sweeter.
I have Parkinson’s. I think that the reason I crave sweets is because it raises my dopamine level. What do you think?
I love your show and especially adding Ben!
