Thanks so much for making this video…. Having type 2 Diabetes is not fun and hard to manage…. Excited to look at your E Book! What I am doing just recently is IF I make something calling for sugar I use Stevia….. never knew you could use the things you talked about….. My question is…. every once in a while I have to eat something sweet anythinggggggg chocolate especially I do buy some puddings because I love pudding but I end up eating too many so for me my son hides the sweets from me.. I tell him to and too He gets concerned about my diabetes …. I am very paranoid about taking my numbers …. they have spiked after eating some sweets very very high ….. and also My average for my numbers is around 8 to 10 I take metformin 4 x daily max dose…. but when I get around 6 after a fast I get very very shaky I think its because my body is so use to it being much higher? Anyway thanks so so so much! I am wanting to get my blood sugar under control more thanks for your help and I will be watching your other videos SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU AND YOUR SO SWEET
@Prodigal Flower Thank you so much! Thrilled you find the recipes helpful. With your culinary background, you can get so creative with lower carb ingredients. Let me know anytime if you have questions!
@Healthy Mom Happy Family I am just seeing this thanks for the information yes having type 2 Diabetes is not fun and too I have to work with my cholesterol & blood pressure so its very very hard to do … how can you combine Diabetes Cholesterol / Blood Pressure Diet? It limits so so much right?
@Tranquil Vibes Such a great question! Actually the same foods that are good for diabetes management (whole grains, fiber, veggies, limited refined sugar, etc) improve cholesterol as well. With blood pressure, adding more produce to the diet helps as well as increased movement and stress management too!
@Healthy Mom Happy Family Thanks So Much Darling!!!! Yes with all the information you are giving us I am making lots of changes in my diet and I love fruit and veggies!!! & I don’t take in sugar no more …… What about Sugar Free things Or Low Sodium I’ve been doing that for a while now … Or No Added sugar Also I do eat Fruit in a big can in water but RINSE It Is that OK? I have a smoothie with blue berries almost daily I make myself …. I love my smoothies even with strawberries bananas pineapple
@Tranquil Vibes So proud of you and all the changes you are making!
What are your thoughts on sugar alternatives? Monkfruit, Erythritol, Maple Syrup, Date Sugar, Coconut Sugar, Stevia, etc.
I have such a sweet tooth, but am insulin resistant and foods that spike my blood sugar make me feel so sick immediately after eating. I find mixing fat, protein, or other healthy additives into meals where there is sugar doesn’t really help my feeling ill after consumption. I even find fruit sometimes make me feel sick.
Monkfruit, Erythritol, and stevia will have no impact on blood sugar levels however coconut sugar, maple syrup, and date sugar are all still sugars that will spike blood glucose in the same way refined sugars will so it is best to limit these in total to less than 10% of total daily calories.
New favorite channel, I am addicted. I have steroid induced diabetes so when I have to take prednisone, I have to shift how I eat so drastically. This video was a life saver. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain different options. I would have never thought to swap one for one sugar for fruit puree before but I am totally going to try that =D
Thank you SO much! I am thrilled you liked this video & the fruit swaps. I cant wait to hear what you think!
Really good information thanks
Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it!
Thank you with all the swaps. That information was very helpful.
You are so welcome! Im so glad you found it helpful!
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
you are so welcome! I hope you enjoyed it!
I started taking the medication bought from Dr Igho YouTube channel and surprisingly it was working Gradually and in 9days everything changed, I am really Excited that you helped me Cure my Disease Naturally & I pray that God bless you Dr Igho for the Goodwork
I am a Type 2 diabetic on no medication. FBS and A1C 87 and 4.5. Some will get a lot from these suggestions but I will stick to what I am doing which is to avoid this stuff. There are some delicious things that can be made with almond and coconut flours and monk fruit. Just have to test out things and see how they affect your blood sugar.
Yes you need to always do what works best for you as an individual. If you havent seen it, many of my recipes do use monk fruit and almond flour as well 🙂
Instead of using prunes could I use dates?
I wonder if using agave nectar instead of sugar since it has an eerily similar sweetness as sugar and a much lower glucose index?
I’m so glad I found your videos, you are helping me so much with my hubby’s diabetes, I REALLY don’t like the fake sweeteners & now I can use natural, THANK YOU SO MUCH ☺️
Thank you!! So happy to have you here!
I have another rule to add to those three; I NEVER eat anything sweet on an empty stomach. I can have small portions of sweet things if I have protein and some fat in my belly. This helps me manage my blood sugar level much better.
Yes you have helped beyond belief, thankyou
Great Advice !
I am so happy to hear that!
Yes always great to combine with protein, healthy fats, and fiber!
Honestly the GI is pretty similar and for some, agave raises sugar more. You can definitely try it and monitor how you respond. It is certainly an option, it just may not make a big difference 🙂
Same here. My family, if they had to, could eat ice cream or bowl of cereal for a meal and not be hungry for hours. If I have a bowl of cereal on an empty stomach, or any sugar at all, I am starving the rest of the day!
Just found this channel and excited to doing the swapping out sugar and unhealthy things.
So excited to have you here!
@Healthy Mom Happy Family thk you
Thank you very much for your video. I recently found out I have pre-diabetes so this information very helpful because I love deserts, especially chocolate.
Im so glad you found this helpful!!
@Healthy Mom Happy Family I forgot to mention I am going on a Hawaii Cruise in a couple of months and it is good to know I can still have deserts in moderation plus I love the idea of walking around after having desert instead of sitting around.
How long will the chocolate bombs last in a container in the fridge as I want to make some for xmas as pressies…thanks!
Does this work for gluten free baking also?
Some can be adjusted for GF but not all…let me know which you are curious about 🙂
